It is an exciting time of the year for our little friends as the Holidays approach. At DNP we focus on the importance of giving and kindness especially at this time of year. The children are busy making gifts for their families as well as having fun with holiday crafts and traditions. As always, we invite you to come into our classrooms and share a tradition of any type with our students.
During this time of year some of the best gifts you can give your children are the consistency of routine and quiet time. Children this age can become overstimulated and excited by holiday events which can result in challenging behaviors. Sticking to routine and leaving plenty of time for quiet activities can help alleviate this stress. The children benefit from listening to quiet music, a story, baking, crafting, and time away from electronics and television.
On January 15th and 16th we will have parent/teacher conferences. On these days we will not have classes but we do provide babysitting during your conference time. Your teachers have been observing your child’s skills and behaviors and will speak to you about their school experiences. If you are concerned about a specific area of your child’s development such as speech or motor problems, please drop your teacher an email before conference so she can assess these concerns.
At this time, I would like thank our executive board for all of their help and support. Without the help of all of our parents are school could not run as smoothly as it does.
Wishing you all a lovely holiday season and a blessed New Year.
